I don't blame you either really. The Olympics has admittedly left me with all kinds of mixed emotions in general.
Don't want crowds, do want to see some of the events. Don't want the 1984-style security we have going on right now (including a missile base literally ten minutes down the road from us in broad daylight), do want to see what people's bodies can be made to do in these events. Don't want the casual nationalism, do want to see some economic rejuvenation (and if that's in a way that lasts that would be even better).
So very mixed and complicated emotions, but overall London is not a nice place to be right now no matter how much anyone tries to make it pretty.
